Rosgeo to start mass production of Russian seismic equip in 2023
MOSCOW, Apr 11 (PRIME) -- State geological exploration company Rosgeo plans to start mass production of Russian equipment for seismic exploration in 2023 as it currently depends on supplies from the West, CEO Sergei Gorkov said in a news conference on Monday.
“I will not hide it, there is dependency. We had a stress test in February, and discovered almost 1,100 positions. We have a special risk matrix for all of them, and we evaluate the risk as moderate … But where we are actually dependent (on supplies from the West)? It is mainly in the seismic equipment related to the shelf zone. The dependency here is deep, and it is historic,” he said.
Rosgeo started working on the problem in 2020, and designed sea bottom stations with partners in 2021. The equipment is undergoing trials, and mass production should be launched in 2023, while in 2022, the company has no problems with fulfillment of the contracts, he said.
